One fascinating scripture I came across in the Bible is Revelation 12:7, which states, “Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.” At first, this was confusing. War keh? In heaven?
Prior to this, I had always imagined heaven as a place of perfect peace, painted in pure white, with angels softly singing as they floated from place to place, very demure, very mindful. But to think that gbasgbos once took place there? That was astonishing.
It dawned on me that being in your God-appointed location does not mean there won’t be challenges. What is assured, however, is our victory through Christ. Even in the Bible, wars did not cease when the Israelites arrived in their Promised Land. In fact, when they reached Canaan, they found that it was already occupied (Numbers 13:28-33). They had to fight to possess it (Joshua 1:3-5), and even after taking control, they had to continue battling to keep invaders out (Judges 3:1-2).
The presence of opposition does not mean you are in the wrong place—it simply calls you to exercise your dominion and victory in Christ.
This principle applies not only spiritually but also in everyday life. That dream job, marriage, ministry, or opportunity God has promised you will not necessarily be handed to you on a silver platter. Moreover, even after you have stepped into your destiny, challenges may arise. This does not mean you are in the wrong place; rather, it is an opportunity to reaffirm and enforce the victory Christ has given you.
Psalm 23:5 says, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” This verse highlights that blessings often come in the midst of opposition. Your enemies’ presence does not negate your victory—it only proves that your table is being set.
So, when challenges arise in your God-ordained place, do not be discouraged. Rather, see them as a call to exercise your authority, enforce the victory of Christ, and strengthen your faith. Victory is not the absence of war but the assurance of triumph through Him who has already overcome!
