One word I learnt recently is “Physiognomy” which basically means the art of assessing a person’s character or personality from their outward appearance especially their face.

In my search for more understanding of the subject, I came across another word “Pathognomy” which means the art of discovering the character of a person by observing their behaviour.

Long before scientists came up with this, God already explained this to us in 1Samuel 16:7 “…People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart”

Interestingly, this revelation was not said to just anyone but to Prophet Samuel – one of the greatest prophet in his era. A prophet renowned for having every of his prophecy come to pass – 1Sam 3:19 Samuel grew. The LORD was with him, and he fulfilled EVERYTHING Samuel prophesied.
Yet, he was about to be swayed by physical appearance.

And this is a lesson for me and you. Let your physical appearance speak for you. Not everyone would have time to observe your behavior (Pathognomy), but why wait? When you can play the physiognomy card?
Invest in your physical appearance as much as you also invest intellectually.
Don’t shortchange yourself in a world that judges people on outward appearance.

Have a great weekend
