The story is told of the boiling frog.

For those who aren’t familiar with it, let me recap.

The story claims that if you put a frog in boiling water, it will jump out straight away. BUT, if you put it in water at room temperature and gradually increase the temperature, the frog will keep adjusting itself to the rising temperature until, eventually, it becomes too late for it to escape.

The story has long served as a warning against complacency.

Humans have been blessed with the incredible ability to adapt, but sometimes, this ability can be to our own detriment.

People watch the world around them gradually decay, yet they keep adjusting. They get used to what once would have been unacceptable. They tolerate a little more, compromise a little further, and before they know it, they wake up one day and realize that everything has gone to ruin.

So, look into the mirror and be sure you aren’t staring at a boiling frog.

1 Corinthians 10:12 (NKJV) says: “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”

In other words, check the temperature occasionally.

That being said, scientists have actually tried to verify the story, and you’ll be surprised to find out that it is, in fact, scientifically incorrect… lol.

Frogs are not that unwise. If given the room to escape, they will generally do so when their environment becomes uncomfortable.

Neither should you.

Have an amazing weekend.
