“As you are learning to blow, make sure you guard” – Olayiwola Richard, 2026

For those not familiar, the above quote is from the CEO of GNCC masterclass, Mr Richard – one of characters in Layi Wasabi’s comedy catalogue.

The above quote was borrowed from a boxing lesson where his coach taught him the importance of guarding while he was learning how to throw blows. The word “blow” also carries a double meaning in this context and is the Nigerian word for when one becomes successful.

And just like in boxing, with being successful comes attacks, and it is important to know how to guard against them. It could be physical, mental, spiritual or whatever.
And the best time to prepare for an attack is when you are not under an attack.

I am of the opinion that God will not allow you face an attack you have no chance of surviving. To rephrase, God will not let you face a test you have no chance of passing.

Maybe, just maybe the reason we haven’t faced certain tests, is because we currently stand no chance of passing them. We have not prepared for those tests, and just like in life, there’s a test prior to every promotion.

It’s Easter!!!
Jesus passed the test of the Cross to bring salvation to all men.

What tests are you preparing for?
“As you are learning to blow, make sure you guard”

Happy Easter!
