As a sequel to last week’s topic, another principle is consistency. Consistency is a crucial ingredient in the pursuit of success. After planting, the farmer must stay committed to nurturing the plants to ensure they thrive to their full potential. Otherwise, he risks missing out on the harvest.

Jesus often used agricultural metaphors to highlight the power of persistence. In Luke 8:15, He describes the good soil as representing those who, “with a noble and good heart, hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.” The key phrase here is “by persevering.” A farmer who neglects his crops after sowing cannot expect a harvest—just as a person who starts but fails to stay committed will not see lasting results.

Similarly, in Galatians 6:9, Paul reinforces this idea: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Nature itself teaches that growth is gradual. Crops do not sprout overnight; they require watering, weeding, and waiting. In the Parable of the Growing Seed (Mark 4:26-29), Jesus explains how a farmer sows the seed, and over time, the plant grows, “first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head.” Each stage builds upon the last, emphasizing the importance of staying the course.

Whether in career growth, skill development, relationships, or financial investments, consistency compounds over time. A gym-goer who trains daily sees results, while a musician who practices regularly masters their craft. Businesses thrive not just from good ideas but from sustained effort.

Success isn’t about occasional bursts of hard work—it’s about daily, disciplined action.

So help me God. It can be overwhelming at times when you don’t see the immediate fruits of your actions or continued actions. We receive grace to stay consistent and never give in
