It’s 4 a.m.
I should be asleep, especially with the long weekend of work ahead of me. But instead, my mind is focused on getting this post ready for 8 a.m. on Friday.
Why? Because I already missed one Friday in the past year, and I don’t want to miss another.
Since I started running this website in 2023, I’ve learned that consistency takes real effort. It’s even harder when you’re someone who naturally prefers to act only when inspiration strikes.
The truth is, many of us operate that way. We wait to feel motivated before we act. But if you’re always waiting on the right feeling, you may never fully tap into your potential. To grow, you have to learn to act regardless of how you feel.
Even Jesus, who came to fulfill the greatest mission ever — to give His life for the world — reached a moment when He didn’t feel like going through with it. In the book of Matthew, He prayed, “Let this cup pass from me. Yet not my will, but Yours be done.” Matthew 26:39
That moment shows us something profound. Even with perfect wisdom and divine purpose, His feelings tried to hold Him back. But He didn’t let them.
Feelings can stop us from doing the right thing.
While there are many psychological tools that can help with this, one that I’ve found especially useful is this: count the cost.
When I don’t feel like going to work, I remind myself of the consequences. Losing the job. Facing unemployment. Struggling financially. That simple act of reflection often gives me the push I need to get up and do what needs to be done.
Ecclesiastes 11:4–6 (AMP) says:
“He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed], and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest].”
Don’t wait for perfect conditions or perfect feelings. Count the cost, and take action. That’s how we start getting the best out of life.
Have an amazing weekend.

I strongly agree. The closest people to us must also be individuals that don’t say “you are doing too much try and rest, its just this week”. NO! We must have people who empower us and create a conducive environment for us to keep to our commitments.
